Cheryl Chumley is our KEYNOTE SPEAKER for Convention 2017! Cheryl is an author, writer, and inspirational speaker. She is passionate about topics related to Christianity and America’s Judeo-Christian roots. Michael Savage writes about her latest book, “Cheryl Chumley’s “Devil in DC” hits the nail on the head of what’s wrong with America and then tells how to fix it. She gives clear, concise directions on how to win back the country from the progressives and atheists who’ve taken over, reminding readers with a most inspiring message: All is not lost, God’s still in charge, and the Constitution remains the rule of law.”
Chumley will inspire you to rebuild the crumbling foundations in Canada and win back our nation from those who seek to destroy it. Be sure to attend this Keynote address at our CHP Convention banquet Thursday, November 2, 2017

Rod Taylor, our party leader since November 2014, has served as a CHP candidate in both federal and provincial campaigns.
Rod has worked with his hands most of his life, primarily in the lumber industry, but also on farms and in other industries. He spent six years working on the railroad in Alberta. In Smithers, BC, he graded lumber and supervised quality control, while Elaine operated a Christian bookstore.
Rod has been a first aid attendant, a union shop steward, a chairman of workplace safety committees, a department supervisor, a director of the Bulkley Valley District Hospital, a director of the Smithers Prolife Society and Chairman of the Bulkley Valley Christian Literature Society.
Rod and Elaine have been members of the CHP since its founding convention.
Rod has been active in both provincial and federal politics, running twice in provincial elections and six times federally. He and Elaine helped start the BC Unity Party and he later oversaw the formation of CHP-BC, the first provincial wing of the Christian Heritage Party. Rod served as CHP’s Deputy Leader from 2008 until 2014 and several years as National Development Director. In November 2014, Rod became National Leader. In 2015 he contested the federal riding of Ottawa-West Nepean. In 2016 he ran as a candidate in the federal by-election in Medicine Hat-Cardston-Warner (Alberta). Although not yet elected to Parliament, he believes we must continue to offer voters an opportunity to choose the CHP’s moral, biblical principles over deteriorating and failed secular approaches.
Rod is committed to the growth and development of CHP Canada. His focus is to see our membership expand and to equip our members with the tools they need to effectively organize in every province and electoral district of Canada.
Larry Hurd’s five university degrees include a Master of Laws degree (LLM) in constitutional law from Osgoode Hall Law School, a Master’s degree in Canadian Studies from Carleton University and a Graduate Diploma in Legislative Drafting.
Hurd thrice attended the Annual Review of Religious Freedom at the International Centre for Law and Religion Studies (ICLRS). In June 2015, Hurd had the honour of attending the 800 year commemoration of the sealing of the Magna Carta in England.
Hurd will provide conventioneers a greater understanding of the underlying principles of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and explain why major court decisions and government legislation come out looking the way they do. He will offer us tools on how to use these underlying principles to obtain greater success in defending, protecting and promoting freedom of religion in Canada.
Pastor Kelvin Beckstead
Pastor Kelvin’s favourite verse is the same one included in many CHP emails: 2 Chronicles 7:14 states: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Raised on a dairy farm in Eastern Ontario and having pastored a small church he became the President / Chairman of Prayer Canada in 2013. Beckstead will inspire you to always be praying for Canada and our Governments – local, provincial, and federal. We are in a spiritual battle for Canada and prayer is our tool of warfare!
